Are You Paying Rent in Provo?

By: Art Gib

With the current market trend, there is now more Provo real estate available than normal. Many people are picking the real estate up and becoming homeowners for the first time. However there are some people who are still renting property instead of buying their own Provo real estate. There are certain problems associated with renting that people need to be aware of in order to make an informed decision regarding Provo real estate.

Renting is Throwing Money Away

When you purchase Provo real estate, you are gaining equity. Every time you make a mortgage payment, you will then have more equity. That is why real estate is considered to be an investment.

Rent works the other way. When you pay your landlord money that is the last you will ever see of it. You have no money in the home, and when your lease is up and you leave, you will take nothing but your belongings with you.

Even the Most Permanent Rental is not Permanent

Another problem renters face is the uncertainty of shelter. A renter can sign an agreement for years, and then suddenly the landlord might want to sell the property. In that case, the renter is going to have to leave and find a new place to live.

When you purchase Provo real estate, you have the comfort of knowing you can stay there as long as you like. This offers relief for those who do not want to have to pick up and move at a moments notice.

Renters Don't Have Freedom

If you rent, you are stuck, in a sense. If you get transferred and have to move right away, you are going to have to continue paying rent until the lease is up. If you own Provo real estate, you could quickly put the home on the market and try to sell it so you would not have to continue making the payments.

Renting also keeps you from having freedom in other ways. You cannot paint your walls, change the flooring, or put the flowers you want in the yard. Is that the way you want to live?

When you own Provo real estate, you can do whatever you want with it. Because it is yours, you will get to make the decisions.

Renting has long been realized to be a waste of money. If you are currently renting, consider looking at the Provo real estate that is available. You can find the home that you want and stop giving your money away without any reward.
